Datasheet — CA9048 DeLuxe Stitcher Wire Cutter

CA9048 is a cutting spare part for DeLuxe Stitcher wire stitcher heads. In the 26/26D operation and maintenance documentation it appears as a “Wire Cutter,” with two cutters used in the face plate area of the head.

The part works with the wire feeding and cutting mechanism: the documentation describes upper and lower cutters, where the assembly must shear the wire cleanly before the stitch is formed. The CA9048 cutters have four usable cutting surfaces that can be reused by reversing their position, according to the manual.

Typical use is maintenance of wire stitching heads in print, bindery, and finishing operations. Update Ltd’s catalog lists CA9048 as a common cutter for 26A/D style heads and states that the common-parts list applies to 1/2 in crown and 24 to 30 gauge round wire.
